Twinkle Khanna (born December 29, 1973 in Pune, India ) is an Indian film actress. She is the daughter of film stars Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna and sister of Rinke Khanna.

She made her debut opposite Bobby Deol in Barsaat (1995). Though the film did not do well [1], she received the Filmfare Best Debut Award for her performance. She then went on to do many films which got her good reviews and recognition from the audience. She has acted with some of the best stars in the industry including Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Govinda. Though not a very successful actress she managed to get recognition from critics.

Her other notable film roles include the girl next door in Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998), the undercover spy along with Shahrukh Khan in Baadshah (1999) and the village belle in Mela (2000).

She left the industry after her marriage to Akshay Kumar and has not acted in any films since then. Her last film was Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega (2001) which was received averagely at the box office.

Twinkle recently did the interiors for Rani Mukerji's new house.

She married actor Akshay Kumar on January 14, 2001. Their first child, a son named Araav, was born on September 15, 2002. She was back in the spotlight after rumours of her husband's alleged affair with Priyanka Chopra.
