This article is about an unincorporated neighborhood in the near northern suburbs of Denver. For the unincorporated village of the same name in the Rocky Mountains, please see Twin Lakes, Lake County, Colorado.

Twin Lakes is a census-designated place (CDP) in Adams County, Colorado, United States. The population was 6,301 at the 2000 census.

Although Twin Lakes is an official Census-Designated Place in Adams County, it is not used as a city name in postal addresses in Adams County. Mail to this area is addressed to Denver, zip code 80221.

In postal delivery terms, Twin Lakes, Colorado refers to the village in Lake County.

Twin Lakes (in Adams County) is located at 39°49′30″N, 105°0′16″W (39.825086, -105.004320)GR1. The altitude of Twin Lakes (in Adams County) is approximately 5220 ft (1582 m) above sea level, slightly lower than downtown Denver.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.3 km² (1.7 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 6,301 people, 2,156 households, and 1,569 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,456.8/km² (3,776.9/mi²). There were 2,185 housing units at an average density of 505.2/km² (1,309.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 77.02% White, 0.78% African American, 1.48% Native American, 3.43% Asian, 0.21% Pacific Islander, 13.60% from other races, and 3.49% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 49.33% of the population.

There were 2,156 households out of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.1% were married couples living together, 11.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.2% were non-families. 20.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.92 and the average family size was 3.31.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18, 12.0% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 18.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 113.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 115.7 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $38,536, and the median income for a family was $41,424. Males had a median income of $31,336 versus $24,832 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $15,923. About 11.2% of families and 16.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.5% of those under age 18 and 6.8% of those age 65 or over.
