"Twilight World" was released in 1987 from the album it's better to travel by British jazz-pop/sophisti-pop act Swing Out Sister. It hit the UK charts on April 18, 1987 and rose to number 32. In the US, it reached number 31.
The serious tone of this song contrasted with the effervescent pop of their previous hit single, "Breakout", and featured a jazz-lounge musical influence.
This song was remixed a number of times, and the album version is in fact a remix entitled "the superb, superb mix" (6:27). A bonus remix on the album is also included (6:09).
