Twi- is an Old English prefix for two. Some words using the prefix are:
- A twibil is a type of double-bladed battle axe.
- Twice means two times.
- A twig is a small branch of a tree. The prefix is thought to refer to the forking nature of twigs.
- Twilight is the light between day and night.
- Twins are two children born at the same time to the same mother.
- Twine is a type of doubled thread.
- To twitch is to move with a quick jerk. The word is from an Old English word meaning "to pluck", related to the base of twig.
