Twelve Mile Island, also known as Brewster's Island, is an alluvial island in the Allegheny River in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Harmarville, is north of the island, and Oakmont, is south.

In the 19th century, the island was home to the only reported Witch Trial in the Allegheny Valley. [1]

On January 5, 1848, the sidewheel, wooden hull packet Planter was destroyed due to a boiler explosion while loading grain at Jones' Ferry on the island. Five people were killed. [2]
