TV Quick
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The TV Quick is a British weekly TV listing magazine that is published by family-run German company H Bauer Publishing[1]. It features the TV listings of the week from a Saturday to the following Friday and is sold every Tuesday.[2] It also has its own annual awards ceremony, the TV Quick & TVChoice Awards, and has an agony aunt column formerly written by Trisha Goddard which is currently written by Anita Naik. It costs £0.75p and also features puzzles, crosswords, a mailbag and competitions. The editor-in-chief is Jon Peake, who is also editor of Bauer's other listings magazines TVChoice and Total TV Guide.
It was launched in 1991 after the monopoly on listings magazine ended. Before this, only the Radio Times had BBC listings and TV Times had ITV and (from 1982) Channel 4 listings. TV Quick started along with What's On TV and the short lived TV Plus in March 1991.
When it was launched, the cover picture usually had TV stars and programmes but more recently, it almost exclusively has a soap represented on the cover.
