Tuxedo (software)

Tuxedo (Transactions for Unix, Extended for Distributed Operations) is a middleware platform used to manage distributed transaction processing in distributed computing environments. Tuxedo is a TOM : Transaction Oriented Middleware.
It was originally developed and designed by AT&T in 1984 for the creation and administration of e-commerce online transaction processing (OLTP) systems. The first application that it was used on was called LMOS.
Currently, Tuxedo is the property of BEA Systems.
