[edit] List of anti-heroes
I just want to inform you that the article List of anti-heroes was deleted today after being listed on VfD. I am not sure if you knew it was listed or not, or if you care or not. I felt, since you had participated as a contributor on the article that you should know. If you want to know more about the status of the now deleted article, I have made a post in Wikipedia:Deletion review. If you don't want to know more, please disregard this message. sincerely, Kingturtle 21:42, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Goat Head Soup
Hello Turnstep! The comment I left here [1] refers to Orlando as being one of the centers of Death Metal bands, along with Tampa. The flaming goat head allusion is from an episode of "Space Ghost, Coast to Coast" that featured Tenacious D. Space Ghost co-host, Zorac attempting to "out-rock" the D. With pitiful results, because of course, Tenacious D are the most dangerous rock machine on earth. Hope some of this may have jogged the ol' memory. See you 'round! [edit] ArbCom Vote
Hi Turnstep,
As per your opposition vote to my ArbCom candidacy due to the lack of questions, I've elaborated on my statement and explanation at the questions page. I welcome any further questions to be asked to clarify any of your doubts, and let me know on my talkpage if it's urgent. Thank you for your interest! :)

[edit] New Orleans
Hey Turnstep, are you from New Orleans? --Shultz 08:13, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- No, just visited. Turnstep 16:41, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
-
- Did you visit the city before or after Katrina? And sorry I made that blanking-redirect of Venice to New Orleans back in September. New Orleans had more in common with Venice at that time (albeit temporarily) and I was younger on the site, thus less mature, so I decided to make the tasteless redirect of Venice to New Orleans. Looking back at it, it's like making a joke about 9/11, especially in the days after (as opposed to the years after), as that would've been very tasteless indeed. Are you also an admin by any chance? --Shultz 22:40, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- Not an admin, and visited pre-Katrina. I think it's not so much the testlessness of the redirect that was wrong, but the fact that a redirect effectively blanks a page of all content that people have worked on. So it would be equally wrong to redirect something more nuetral such as potato. Glad to see you recognize the error of your ways, though, and glad to see you doing good work on Wikipedia. [edit] re: AFD transclusions
Absolutely you can help clean them up. In every case I've fixed so far, the problem was not with the Log page but that the nomination was done incorrectly. The nominator was making a renomination but wasn't bothering to amend the templates when walking through the steps. The process I used was to:
- work my way back to the article being nominated
- check the history to confirm the nomination
- change the template from {{afd}} to {{afdx|2nd}} (which uses a parameter to add "(2nd nomination)" to the discussion page title
- follow the new link and either recreate or clean up the renomination (remembering to add a link to the prior discussion)
- correct the transclusion link in the AFD log page
Hope that works for you. Thanks for your help. Rossami (talk) 17:07, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Relisting AfDs
I relisted the AfDs because there was no clear consensus, but maybe your right. I should of closed it as a no consensus. However, there are already three more votes in favor of deletion, I want to see how this AfD goes for another week. --Ichiro 04:56, 13 January 2006 (UTC)--Ichiro 15:17, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- I closed it as no consensus, since there isn't a clear consensus anyways. I usually relist AfDs for any discussion without consensus or discussions that has similiar number of keep votes and delete votes, since I'm very new at closing AfDs, no doubt I will make some mistakes like this. I am guess bit too "scared" (if you want to put it that way) to close the AfD with the wrong result, since sometimes if misinterpret them. I relist AfDs so I can make sure that the consensus is to either delete or to keep. Well, next time I'll close it as no consensus instead if a discussion like this pops up. Thanks. --Ichiro 15:26, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] no problem
any time. I noticed that several people, including RfA regulars, made the mistake, so I posted about it on the RfA talk page. Keep up the good work :-) Alhutch 19:22, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WP:RPA/WP:CIVIL and stuff
Hi Turnstep; I've responded on your talk page and do indeed intend to follow WP:RPA WP:CIVIL (Remove offensive comments on talk pages) in this case. If you (or anyone else) want notification when I do it, (so you can revert or whatever :-) then just say so. Mozzerati 19:54, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you
I would like to thank you for participating in my rfa, and for raising your concerns. I will do my best to act on them, and work towards being a better editor. If there is anything I can ever do for you dont hesitate to ask. All the best Banez
[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ibat
Hi, I've updated this AfD with some info, and am notifying everyone who has participated in the discussion so far. I'm doing this because I think some users have misunderstood what Ibat is. Please read my comments at the AfD, and if you wish, update your comments. Thanks! Mindmatrix 00:32, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My RFA
Hi Turnstep/2006, thanks for participating in my RfA discussion. Unfortunately, my fellow Wikipedians have decided at this time that I am not suitable to take on this additional responsibility, as the RfA failed with a result of 66/27/5 (71.0% support). I hope that if I do choose to reapply in the future, the effort I will make in the meantime to improve and expand my contributions to Wikipedia may persuade you to reconsider your position. All the best, Proto t c 10:50, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tojo
I had those in links because, unlike in most contexts in English, the specifications "Express", "Limited Express", etc. have very specific meanings when used in Japan. I won't re-wikify them though I plan to disambig/special page showing the specific definition sometime in the future, after which I will re-insert the links. freshgavin TALK 03:45, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] hello
Please tell me what importance my sign up date has to do with NfD an article? Especially when most of the votes for and against are from anonymous people, and those who have recently signed up as well. I take it you are someone who does not like or welcome new users to Wikipedia? If not then why try to blacklist new users from using the same features on Wikipedia that veteran users have access to? Not trying to flame you or anything.. just trying to see your POV. 3H 17:41, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I'm letting you know I reported you. Please, don't edit my page like that again.
As I said. --T-man... ""worst vandal ever"" 01:51, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] O RLY?
Thanks. I forgot to check the screen resolution. Both ways look identical to me at 1280x1024 but make a difference at others. I wish I could just up and delete the chair and the mantee pics though. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:31, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] what did you contribute to the INVINCIBLE entry?
i'm working with robert kirkman, the series writer on a handbook of the characters in the comic and would like to contact the person who wrote the bio on the page. was that you or do you know who wrote it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by dustyabell (talk • contribs) .
[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Llamacon (2nd nomination)
Good morning. You participated in the Deletion Review discussion of this page. The page was relisted on AFD. I noticed that you don't appear to have commented in the AFD discussion yet. So far, there has been scant participation and it may have to be relisted. If you feel it's appropriate, please join the conversation. Rossami (talk) 16:49, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RFA
Hope it works out! Good luck. -- Samir (the scope) 02:05, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
I added a new question to your RFA. It probably won't affect my vote or anything; I'm just interested in the six things you would like to change, and candy. --TantalumTelluride 05:19, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- It's all about the candy, isn't it? :) I've answered: if it's not clear enough, please let me know. Turnstep 05:24, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
I just wanted to let you know that I meant every word that I said on your RfA and wasn't just blowing smoke out my butt (or whatever the correct phrase is.) :o) While I can't say I've had a lot of experience with you personally, I was very impressed with your answers to questions, and even your self-nomination. I wish you the best of luck, and keep up the good work. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 22:04, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Congratulations!
Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia 03:47, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
