Turkish Revenge Brigade

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Turkish Revenge Brigade (Turkish: Turk Intikam Tugayi, TIT) is a militant organisation in Turkey. They are allegedly linked to the extreme nationalist Grey Wolves group. In 1996, it is reported that they were involved with the murder of Turkish Cypriot journalist Kutlu Adali.[1] In 2006, they claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on an elementary school in the predominantly Kurdish city of Diyarbakir. Eleven civilians (including six children) were killed in the attack.[2] In 1998, members of the group attempted to assassinate Akin Birdal, president of the Human Rights Association.[3] The group has also taken responsibility for the murders of Mehmet Sincar, a parliamentary deputy, and Ferhat Tepe, a journalist.[4]
