Tunka Manin

Tunka Manin was a great king of the Ghana Empire during the 11th Century. Tunka Manin expanded the power of the empire by dominating the salt trade. Arab historian al-Bakri describes Tunka Manin as controlling an army of 200,000 warriors, including 40,000 archers. Ghana began to decline in late 1000s.
