Tummyrub produce downtempo and lounge music and comprised of Kobus Nieuwmeijer (formerly in Fractal Fissures and The Spiritual Beating System) and various guest artist. Tummyrub was founded in 1989 and has its roots in Oxford, England. Tummyrub is one of the first music bands to distribute their music freely with electronic means through Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) and FidoNet and later on the Internet. In 1990 they were one of the first to produce and compose music with Fractal geometry software, known as Fractal Music. Tummyrub has given interviews about their computer music to BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Oxford and appeared in the press; Music Technology magazine July 1991 and The Independent 1991. Tummyrub is dedicated to open source music and [[free music]] and all releases by Tummyrub is freely available on the Internet.
