Tumba, Sweden

Tumba is a suburb of Greater Stockholm, and the seat of Botkyrka Municipality, in Stockholm County, Sweden. The urban area stretches over two municipalities. The population as of 2000 is 34,101. The Swedish krona banknotes are printed at Tumba Bruk, in Tumba.
The suburb also holds a High School (Tumbagymnasiet) with almost 1.000 students. The Alfa Laval company was founded in Tumba by Gustaf de Laval and remains present in the suburb. Tumba is very diverse with both high rise apartment buildings and single family houses. A large proportion of its inhabitants originate from other countries than Sweden, such as Turkey, Iraq, Yugoslavia, Poland, Finland, Chile and Lebanon. There is a Syrian Orthodox Church in Tumba due to the notable presence of Assyrian/Syriac people.
