Tulsi Lake is a fresh water lake in northern Mumbai that supplies part of the city's potable water. The overflow level is 139.17 m (456.6 ft). Located at , it is situated within the densely forested Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The Powai-Kanheri hills serve as a catchment area for the excess rainwater which feeds into the lake during the monsoon season between June and September. The lake not open to the public.
Tulsi Lake was built by damming the River Tasso, and redirecting the flow to the nearby Vihar Lake. The plan was laid between 1872 and was completed in 1897 at a cost of Rs 40 lakhs (400,000). Tulsi and Vihar lakes met the city's water requirements until 1884, when the Tansa Dam was commissioned.
Fresh water crocodiles (Crocodilus palustris) are known to inhabit the lake.
