Tuesday's Gone is the second track on Lynyrd Skynyrd's first album, Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd. One of the band's most popular songs, its relaxing pace and serenading guitars have made it a fan staple. The lyrics, featuring themes of a relationship ending because of extensive touring, are similar in mood to the band's signature tune Free Bird.

The song memorably featured in the film Dazed and Confused, during the scene where a party winds down and lucky and luckless people go home. The movie Happy Gilmore also included the song.

Metallica covered this on the album Garage Inc.

The song bears comparison with the 1970 hit Everything's Tuesday by the Chairmen of the Board, an upbeat song with lyrics such as "Everything's been rosy since the day sweet Tuesday chose me".

LYRICS Lynyrd Skynyrd Tuesday's Gone (Gary Rossington / Allen Collins / Ronnie Van Zant)

Train roll on, on down the line, Please take me far, away Now I feel the wind blow outside my door, Means I'm leaving my woman at home. Tuesday's gone with the wind. Well my baby's gone with the wind.

And I don't know oh where I'm going. I just want to be left alone. Well, when this train ends I'll try again, But I'm leaving my woman at home

Tuesday's gone with the wind. Tuesday's gone with the wind. Tuesday's gone with the wind. My baby's gone with the wind. Train roll on. Tuesday's gone.

Train roll on, many miles from my home, See, I'm riding my blues away. Yeah. Tuesday, you see, she had to be free But somehow I've got to carry on. Lord And.

Tuesday's gone with the wind. Tuesday's gone with the wind. Tuesday's gone with the wind. My baby's gone with the wind.

Train roll on. Ohh on. Cause my baby's gone. I’m riding my blues day. Train roll on blue. Turn round my blues

Ride on train. Ride on train. Ride my blues day. Goodbye Tuesday. Goodbye Tuesday. Ohh Train.
