[edit] Merging with Ferry Pier (KCR)
I want to merge this article with the Ferry Pier (KCR) article because they are at the same location and they are about the same transportation hub. If possible, I would also like to include some information about the bus terminus and Pierhead Garden in this proposed new article. Sir Studieselot 02:13, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- They are not the same thing. The LRT station was named after the pier, just as many bus terminals do. They're not one single facility (e.g. Tsuen Wan West Station and its bus terminal, Hung Hom Station and its bus terminal). It is for the same reason there are two articles on the two Kowloon Tong stations, two articles on Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui stations, two articles on Hong Kong and Central stations, but one article for Nam Cheong Station (since it is one facility, instead of two facilities connected like the former examples). The LRT station was named as such because of its proximity to the pier, which is the best landmark in that area. You won't merge the articles on Siu Hong Station and Siu Hong Court, or the proposed Kai Tak Station with the retired Kai Tak Airport. — Instantnood 21:32, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

- Agreed. This shouldn't be merged. The Ferry Pier is a place where ferries berth, whereas the KCR article specifically relates to the LRT stop/terminus. Links should be made between the two articles, and the introduction should indicate the scope of each article, giving links to relevant articles where necessary. The precedent that has been set in this case is that each KCR stop/station has an article of its own and specifically relates to the transportation stop/hub. Other services nearby should rightly have their own article. СђrΐsτσρhΞr ScЋδlτξη 15:17, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
