[edit] Tucson Mirage info (from their website)
The Tucson Mirage is a charter member of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). On December 30, 1998 The Arizona Wildcats defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Holiday Bowl.
Now it's time to get ready for a "Holiday Bowl" rematch with some "Hard Hitting Bone Crunching" Professional Indoor Football - Mirage Style.
The Tucson Mirage will host the Nebraska Chargers Saturday Night April 17, 1999 in the Tucson Convention Center Arena. This exhibition game will be a true test to see if Tucson is ready for their own Professional Indoor Football Team.
We think Tucson is ready for this exciting sport and will support the team to keep it's exsistence here for years to come.
If you have never seen an indoor football game, you don't know what you're missing.
8 players on each side, shrink the length of the field to 50 yards with 8 yard end zones, take away the concept of out of bounds by enclosing the field with padded walls, no punting, offense friendly rules, add a touch of Rock-n-Roll music and now you have a high scoring smash mouth competition that keeps the crowd on its feet screaming for more, more, more. It is fast paced, full of action and fun for the whole family.
