[edit] Appearance/History
Tucker made his first appearance in "Mystery Meat" as one of two friends of Danny Fenton. He's constantly helped out Danny, mostly through the use of his PDA in which he could hack into various technological systems such as in "One of a Kind" when he hacked into Skulker's gauntlet or Technus' techno suit.
In "What You Want", Tucker expressed jealousy over Danny's ghost power, wishing for ghost powers of his own and gaining them unknowingly through Desiree, the wishing genie ghost. Tucker's powers quickly consumed him until Danny put a stop to it, eventually restoring him back to normal through the use of the Fenton Dreamcatcher.
In a later episode, "King Tuck", Tucker tries unsuccessfully to run for school president against the much popular Dash. On a visit to the museum, Tucker later found his resemblance in the pharoah. Hotep-Ra, a mummy ghost, noticing this hands Tucker the ancient sceptor in which Tucker creates an Egyptian world with him as ruler and the teachers and students as his servents. Danny again put a stop to this, helping Tucker realize the error of his way.
[edit] Personality and Weakness
Tucker mainly comes through in personality by being the optimistic one in the group as he often jokes as well as maintain a light hearted attitude overall. Tucker enjoys talking which unfortunately has dire consequences since he does not always know when to keep his mouth shut. It has often caused him to blurt out more than he should or cause trouble overall to his friends. His general geekiness has shown through, causing vast unpopularity with the more well known students who take it upon themselves to give him nicknames such as 'Sucker' or 'Bad Luck Tuck'.
Most of the time however, Tucker goes above and beyond when it comes to his sidekick-gig with Sam to help Danny when he's in a jam such as in "Fanning the Flames" where due to a brainwashed Danny (from Ember McLain's spell), he and Sam attempts to de-brainwash him in order for him to save the day. He's also used his technological skills to undo various hacks ranging from hacking into Technus' technological to setting off security alarms. He's been known to be fiercely loyal, spying on for Danny when Sam briefly dated Gregor/Elliot in "Double Cross My Heart" to sharing just about anything with Danny. Tucker has also shown to be rather observant as he quickly notices Sam's crush on Danny.
Tucker would do almost anything to get a date with a cute girl ranging from asking every girl out for the dance out of a desperate sitution in "Parental Bonding" to flirting, only to end up being rejected or "dumped" by every girl he's asked. Tucker's general major crush was on Valerie Gray which started in "Parental Bonding", but ended shortly afterwards in "Shades of Grey" where he tried to catch her eye, which she took advantage of when she learned that he knew some things about ghosts. Despite his numerous rejects however, Tucker still considers himself to be highly desirable.
Tucker's first loves, however, is technology for he cannot live without it - so much to the point that his greatest fear is life without technology and his trusty PDA's... and clothes. It is revealed in "One of a Kind", after Skulker steals one of he's PDA's that he has more than one, It is also shown in "Micro Management" that he'd go to great lengths to get the latest technology as he spent nearly the entire episode running, jumping, and climbing various obstacles to get the latest PDA (only to find out it was a fake). Tucker's PDA's are the most useful item of technology used to aid Danny's ghost hunting and fighting exploits, next to the inventions of Jack and Maddie Fenton.
There is, in all this, one thing to keep in mind: Tucker's propensity to abuse power. It seems that Tucker has an inferiority complex where his friends are concerned, and whenever Tucker receives power (through a ghostly wish or otherwise) he tends to turn on his friends. This suggests a power-hungry and volatile nature to the otherwise placid Tucker. In particular, once granted his wish for power, Tucker was perfectly willing to kill Danny (though this may have been the wish-granting ghost more than Tucker). He is seen as irresponsible with power, using it for personal pleasure rather than the more righteous reasons Danny wields his with.
[edit] Relationships
[edit] Danny Fenton
"What you Want" reveals that Tucker values Danny as his best friend, seemingly sharing everything with him. He is loyal enough to do various things for him, but has expressed jealousy over his ghost powers.
[edit] Sam Manson
He remains good friends with Sam, viewing her in a platonic light, but is often in opposites with her in terms of personality (his lightheartness over Sam's down-to-earth personality, his love for meat over her vegetarian state, etc.) which leads into arguments at times. The two are always seen together as they are best friends.
[edit] Valerie Gray
A girl he briefly had a crush with, but ended in a short time, most likely after finding out she was a ghost hunter relentlessly on the pursuit of Danny Phantom.
[edit] Hotep-Ra
A ghost mummy serving Tucker (which he enjoyed), only to be backstabbed by him.
[edit] PDA Functions
Known Functions (there may be more):
- The functions of any normal PDA (day planner)
- Access to games such as Pong and Space Dudes.
- Communication device.
- Television.
- Ghost compatibility.
- Can hack into electric devices, such as security cameras, and disable them.
- Ability to beam information to other PDAs.
- Possible Internet access.
- Camera.
- A throwable/shooting weapon(as used in Beauty Marked).
- A GBA (Probably stands for Game Boy Advance)
- A Global Positioning System (GPS).
- A Digital Journal
There was also a second PDA, which got destroyed in 'One of a Kind'. This PDA supposedly had all the same functions as the first, but since it got destroyed, this doesn't really matter. He also can use this to overload the armor of Skulker, he can hack his sistems and put Skulker in funny problems. It appears the Skulker from Future, SkulkTech 9.9, still have this problem.
[edit] Trivia on Tucker Foley
- Tucker is a meat fanatic, as heard in the episode Mystery Meat, he has a sense of smell finely attuned to meat.
- In Teacher of the Year, Tucker's username for the online computer game Doomed is Fryer-Tuck. This could be a reference to the Robin Hood character, Friar Tuck. It is also used a reference, as seen in Beauty Marked, where Tucker and Danny visit a Medieval part of the Ghost-Zone to save Sam (he was also wearing a crossbow and light brown medivial suit).
- Tucker has a fear of hospitals, doctors, and nurses; he never visits the Casper High School nurse and was reluctant to enter North Mercy Hospital (or No Mercy Hospital) - as seen in Doctor's Disorders.
- In Fanning the Flames it's revealed that Tucker is tone-deaf and that he cannot sing - but he likes to anyway (much to the hatred of everyone else).
