Tsufurujin, Tuffles in the FUNimation dub, and Tsufuls in the Blue Water Dub version, are a short human-like race of people in the anime series of Dragon Ball Z and again in Dragon Ball GT. Tsufurujin is a play on the Japanese word for "fruit" (フルーツ furūtsu), continuing the pun tradition of Dragon Ball names. The Tsufurujin were the rivals of the Saiyans, whose name is a play on the Japanese word for "vegetable".

In the Dragon Ball Z anime and Dragon Ball GT, the history of the Tsufurujin is fully explained.

Long ago the Tsufurujin lived peacefully on their planet called Planet Plant. They possessed a very advanced civilization, and lived in high-tech cities across the planet. By contrast, their neighbors, the Saiyans, were a rugged race of barbarians who resided in the wastelands. Living in small clans, the Saiyans were never much of a threat at large, even though they were much larger and stronger than the Tsufurujin. For untold centuries, the two native races of the planet lived side-by-side. That is, until the Saiyans decided to attack. The Saiyans declared war on the Tsufurujin, and although the Saiyans were physically much stronger, the Tsufurujin technology meant they had the upper hand in the war.

But then a factor came in that gave the Saiyans a major advantage. The full moon came up, an event that only happens on the planet once every 100 years. The Saiyans have an ability that makes them turn into giant apes called Oozaru whenever they are exposed to moonlight. In their transformed state, Saiyans become ten times more powerful. After they had all transformed, they easily defeated the Tsufurujin. They took over the planet and renamed it Vegeta, after their king. When the Tsufurujin were all wiped out, the Saiyans adopted their technology and began to expand into space, becoming a race of space pirates.

Unknown to the Saiyans were two final efforts by the Tsufurujin to exact revenge, hidden away for years to become more powerful. The first to be put into action was Hatchhyack. A great super computer was created by the scientist Dr. Raichi, with the purpose of resurrecting immortal Ghost Warriors to destroy the Saiyans. After escaping the Saiyan attack, settling on a backwater planet and maturing over several years, Hatchhyack brought back the dead Dr. Raichi, who created an army of mutants and five generators which released a gas capable of stopping Ki attacks and killing plant life. These were spread around the planet Earth to destroy Son Gokū, Vegeta, Son Gohan and Trunks, along with the vengeful ghosts of Freeza, Coola, Lord Slug and Tullece. However, the Saiyans were able to defeat all thrown at them and brought the fight to Raichi himself who, with his death, released so much hate and spite that Hatchyak overloaded and transformed into an organic warrior of great strength. Despite suffering greatly at his hand, Goku noticed that it was vulnerable before attacking, and, using this to his advantage, destroyed Hatchyak once and for all.

Years later, the second attempt, a genetically superior parasitic organism created by the Tsufurujin, called Bebi, came to exact revenge upon the Saiyans. He discovered that all the remaining Saiyans lived on the planet Earth, and traveled there. Upon arriving, he took control of nearly the entire population, including Trunks, Son Goten, Son Gohan, Bra, and most notably, Vegeta. He wanted to destroy Son Gokū, the last pure Saiyan unpossessed, but after Goku had transformed into a Super Saiyan 4, he defeated Bebi, using a Super Kamehameha to blast him into the sun, and destroy him. The Tsufurujin are never heard from again.
