Tsengel is a sum (county) located in the north-east of the Mongolian aymag (province) of Bayan-Ölgiy. The capital (sum center) of Tsengel is Hushoot, located in the west of the sum. The inhabitants are mainly Tuvans, known as Tsengel Tuvans, whereas the rest of Bayan-Ölgiy is populated mainly by Kazakhs.
