"Truth Is" is the second hit single released by the music artist, Fantasia, from her debut album Free Yourself. Truth Is was not a huge success on the Billboard Hot 100 where it peaked at number 21, but it was an enormous success on the US R&B charts. Truth Is peaked on the US R&B/Hip Hop chart at number two, and set a record stay at number one for a female artist at 14 consecutive weeks on the US Adult R&B Airplay chart. In 2006, Truth Is, along with Free Yourself, became the winner of an ASCAP R&B/Hip-Hop award.
The song's distinctive piano line was sampled from "Highways of My Life" by the Isley Brothers.
