True Life

True Life is a documentary series running on MTV from 1998 to the present. Each episode follows a particular topic - e.g. heroin addiction in the first episode Fatal Dose.
The show is created by following a series subjects by a camera crew through a certain part of their life. Depending on the season and topic, the production values vary. Sometimes the number of cameras or personal mics is lower or higher, resulting in more/less interesting video or clear audio.
In 2005/2006 MTV Canada produced a series of Canadian made True Life episodes. They are yet to air. It is not known if the Canadian shows will air on MTV US.

As evidenced by the episode listing below, True Life has covered everything from drug use, money issues, sexual topics to simple social behavior like visiting the Jersey Shore. As of this writing, the show is currently looking for "sibling rivals, people moving to Las Vegas, meth addicts and people suffering from Tourettes Syndrome".
Of particular interest is the occasional intersection between this show and other shows, both on and off MTV. For example, the recent episode I'm a Reality TV Star featured people from Real World and Survivor, while the episode I'm a Muay Thai Fighter featured Kit Cope who has recently signed a deal with the WFA.
A future episode will follow teens competing in the Teen Jeopardy! Tournament as they compete for over $75,000 in prizes.
