Troy (submarine)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Troy is a 14-foot-long submarine designed to look as much as possible like a Great White Shark, to watch Great White Sharks underwater without disturbing them, since before this it was difficult to observe them without attracting them to food. It has one crew, who lies on his belly inside it. It is piloted by Fabien Cousteau.

It was inspired by the Tintin comic book story Le Trésor de Rackham le Rouge (published in English as Red Rackham's Treasure), where Tintin and his dog are pictured in a metal shark-shaped submarine.

Its name was taken from the idea of "Trojan horse".
