From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Troublemaker Studios is a production company owned by Robert Rodriguez and his ex-wife, producer Elizabeth Avellan. Originally founded as Los Hooligans Productions, its releases include Once Upon A Time In Mexico, the Spy Kids trilogy and Sin City. Stationed in Austin, Texas, Rodriguez plays a large role in the every day operation of the company. More information about the studio can be seen in the special features section of the Once Upon A Time In Mexico DVD. Their most recent work is Frank Miller's Sin City featuring Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, and others.

The studio itself is located at the old Austin Robert Mueller Airport, utilizing several former aircraft hangars and offices. There is a large green screen located on one stage, and another is dedicated to practical sets. The facility also houses production offices, construction shops, and other functions vital to the production of a feature film.

Troublemaker Digital Studios, Rodriguez's visual effects company, is housed at the facility as well.

There is a second facility located outside of Austin in the hill country that provides post-production sound and editing facilities, with a full mix/dub stage prowered by a large Pro Tools installation, and a full Avid Unity-based editing system.
