[edit] Programming
Like its rival Channel 5, Channel 7 airs mostly American programming and only an occasional Belizean program. Also like 5, 7 is well known for its evening newscast, 7 News, which runs in the same timeslot as News 5 Live. Channel 7 has been the local rightsholders to NBA Sunday programming, the NFL's Super Bowl, the Tour De France and most recently, the FIFA World Cup.
[edit] Criticism
Detractors of Channel 7 focus mainly on the news department, which they say is pursuing its own radical agenda. Channel 7 is usually more critical of Government foibles than rival Channel 5, and Government officials have pointedly criticized 7 for its hard-hitting analysis of national issues.
