Tropical Storm Maria
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maria has been used to name one tropical cyclone in the Atlantic:
- 2005's Hurricane Maria - a category three storm that never approached land in its tropical stage.
Maria has also been used to name two tropical cyclones in the western Pacific Ocean. The name was contributed by the United States, and is a female name.
- 2000's Tropical Storm Maria - a severe tropical storm that made a landfall in southern China.
- 2006's Typhoon Maria - a minimal typhoon that tracked just south and east of Japan.
Maria should not be confused with Marie, which is used in the northeast and northwest Pacific.
