Tropical Storm Juan

The name Juan has been used to name two tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean and two tropical cyclones in the Western Pacific Ocean. Juan is used by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on its name lists.
Atlantic:
- 1985's Hurricane Juan: A Category 1 hurricane that struck the Gulf Coast of the United States, causing 12 deaths and $3.2 billion (2005 USD) in damage.
- 2003's Hurricane Juan: A Category 2 hurricane that affected the Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, causing 8 deaths and $200 million in damage.
The name was retired in 2003, and will be replaced with Joaquin for the 2009 season.
West Pacific:
- 2002's Tropical Depression Juan: Moved over the central Philippines, killing 18 people. This system was monitored as a tropical depression by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
- 2006's Typhoon Juan: A strong Category 5-equivalent typhoon that did not affect land while in the PAGASA area of responsibility, but made landfall in Taiwan and the People's Republic of China, killing 441 and causing $1.5 billion (2006 USD) in damage. The system was monitored as Typhoon Saomai by the JMA.
