I'm a university student majoring in political science. On Wikipedia, I focus on topics pertaining to the computer and video games WikiProject. I'd like to develop a consensus as to what video game articles should be included and why: many computer and video game articles pass Wikipedia's notability guideline, but the vast majority do not. Unfortunately, many users cite precedent as reasons why their article about Pokemon x or Location in video game y should be kept. I hate fancruft: it is the primary reason that most computer and video game articles are a joke. I realize my own edit history counts against me, but after thoroughly reading official Wikipedia policies, I have a much better idea of what should and shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I now firmly believe that most video game articles should not have any more than two fair use images: one for the game cover (to identify the subject of the article) and one for demonstrating the game's play itself. Fair use criteria is an official policy on the English Wikipedia, and the rule should not be abused. The two users who have most inspired my recent shift in ideology are User:A Man In Black and User:Angr; to me, they are exemplary editors.

I am also trying to improve writing from an out of universe perspective, something I find particularly difficult. Out of universe perspective (when writing plot summaries) is difficult to achieve without a slew of reliable secondary sources, so I'm not entirely sure plot summaries should be included for most computer and video game articles as they generally constitute original research. I hope that sometime in the future a stricter standard for the inclusion of computer and video game articles is introduced; I also wish there were strict guidelines for how computer and video game articles should be structured. This would make editing CVG articles exponentially easier. If you have recommendations, feel free to discuss them on my talk page!
