Triskelion (sport)

Triskelion is a soccer-like ball game for three teams, invented by Steve Kramer and apparently named after the triskelion of the Isle of Man.

A match requires three teams of four players each, with the game played on a triangular field with goals at each corner and a touch zone on each side, opposite each goal. Matches consist of three 20-minute periods. One team plays offense while the other two teams play defense. A defensive team may become the offensive team by taking the ball to their own touch zone and claiming it. Defensive teams may not use their hands, arms, or shoulders, as in soccer, while the offensive team may handle the ball in any way. Points are earned by scoring a goal, and the number of points earned per goal (1 to 3) depends on from where and how the player scores: within the perimeter around the goal, outside the perimeter, and kicked or hand passed from outside the perimeter.
