Triple Crown of Golf

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Triple Crown of Golf is the winning of the three oldest tournaments in golf in one year. The three oldest tournaments are The Open Championship (1860), the South African Open (1893), and the U.S. Open (1895). But the term is often applied to winning The Open Championship (1860), the U.S. Open (1895), and the Canadian Open (1904).

No one has won the Triple Crown incorporating the South African Open. However there have been two holders of The Triple Crown incorporating the Canadian Open. Lee Trevino in 1971, and more recently Tiger Woods in 2000.
