Trinity Sight System

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trinity Sight System is used in Konami's Playstation 2 RPG, Suikoden III.

Unlike the other Suikoden titles (excluding the SuikoGaiden games, and Suikoden Tactics), you have more than one main character to control, and none of them can be renamed (with the possible exception of one chosen main character due to an event). They also have personalities, and speak, unlike Tir McDohl, Riou, Lazlo, and Prince Frey.

Between the introduction period to the end of the trio's third chapters, the game will be separated in three point of views; Hugo's, Chris's and Geddoe's. Each character have three chapters, and each chapters take place in similar times: the events done in a chapter can affect another character's, including selected choices. Once the three chapters for all three heroes are finished, the game will go on through a fourth and fifth chapter, and the main character of the final moments will be selected out of the three, by the player.

As a bonus, three other characters can be optionally played from the TSS; a returning face from the preceding Suikoden titles, a puppy named Koroku, and Thomas, the young lord of Budehuc Castle.

  • The Returning Face (the name will not be said as it is a spoiler) is selectable after the game's ending, if the good endings is achieved: the 108 Stars of Destiny must all be recruited.
  • Thomas' chapters (two of them) are available once you visit his castle during the trio's chapters. He will be available the next time you have access to the TSS afterwards --- however, his chapters are no longer selectable after the third chapters.
  • Koroku can be selected by talking to it at Budehuc Castle once recruited. It is simply for amusement, as Koroku will talk to other characters within the castle, with different dialogue. They can even say things at ease since they speak to a dog, and can say strange, funny stuff.

It is rumored that initially the last POV available is that of Sasarai's, but the plan was cancelled, either because it would take great difficulties or it would spoil some serious amount of plot. Afterwards, according to the rumor, the Koroku plot was slatted hurriedly to keep the amount of POVs balanced. This rumor surfaced in response of Koroku POV's ridiculously shallow development.
