Tribe Networks runs Tribe.net, a free social networking service enabling individuals and groups to connect and transact locally. Tribe has been described as a cross-breed between MySpace and Craigslist. Tribe was initially backed by Mayfield Venture Capital, Knight Ridder Digital and The Washington Post Company.

Tribe.net was founded by Mark Pincus, Paul Martino, Valerie Syme and Chris Law in 2003.
