TriangleOS

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TriangleOS is an operating system made by Wim Cools meant for both desktop and server use. The OS uses a new approach to storing and retrieving data, and implements increased system security. It is built to be small and fast - fitting on a single floppy disk.

This is a summary of the projects goals:

  • Consistent User-Friendly interface that allows the user to easily perform both simple and complex tasks.
  • Ability to easily perform automated tasks that the user specifies.
  • Small size allowing it to operate on a wide range of devices.
  • Heightened security through limiting applications's rights and privileges and implementing a Security Log.
  • The OS should be suitable for both Server and Desktop tasks (with the same ease of use).
  • Centralise all data for quick access and ability to more easily search for information, rather than having to remember where information is stored.
  • Mobility - the OS should integrate easily with mobile devices.
