Welcome to my talk page! Always be sure to sign your comments with four tildes:~~~~. [edit] Military Brats AfDI don't know if you are watching this discussion or not, so I'm dropping a note here just in case. You wrote, "but the list of military brats and "possible" military brats is undeniably POV." I am questioning that statement that you and Dark Shikari made about it being POV list. I don't want to start another discussion here, so simply ask that you take a look at my response on the page and comment.Balloonman 20:14, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] VP Ongoing IssueFor some reason my name has been removed from the list of authorized users. I was added by Betacommand here [1], and he welcommed me here[2]. I had difficulties using it, did everything I could myself, was unable to, so I requested assistance here [3]. Instead of assistance, I was removed from the list. Because I have had difficulties on wikipedia recieving help from administrators when requested, this message is in essence a generic template I am writing on all moderators' talk pages and discussion boards in the hopes of recieving if nothing else a response - ideally, however, a solution. Thank you very much and apologies for my impatience. Gregorof/(T) 05:35, 3 November 2006 (UTC) [edit] My Editor Review and Assuming Good FaithHi! Thanks for participating in my review. A couple of things. 1. I would just like to say that I respectfully disagree with the statement that ""Enforcing" users to assume good faith is, ironically, not assuming good faith." The page you linked to states that "the very act of citing AGF assumes that the opponent is assuming bad faith." This is not necessarily true. If I make an edit, and someone else disagrees with it, but rather than politely open a dialogue with me, they accuse me of vandalism (which has happened), then their failure to adhere to GF is not an "assumption" on my part, but a fairly obvious statement of observation. Whether a person is acting in good faith is easily determined by the approach they take when disagreeing with another editor. The page also says that it is best not to cite the rule. But this is not reasonable. If a policy or guideline is being violated, then how else is it to be enforced if not with a polite admonishment? The page isn't even a policy or guideline itself, but an essay, and a poorly thought-out, ill-conceived one at that, one that I don't think should be cited as policy. The discussion on its Talk Page supports this. No offense. 2. Why do you feel I should participte in more project edits? Is this a required step for Admins? Why are projects pages more important than articles not a part of projects? Also, the area in which I have contributed the most number of edits is probably Comics, and you can see on my User Page that that subject is the one for which I listed the largest number of articles I worked on. Does the Project: Comics thing not count? And how can I find out where AfD's and other such projects are occurring? I would appreciate your input. Thanks again. :-) Nightscream 08:18, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

It's nice to see something other than template placement for a change. On a not-so-related note, have you put any thought into an RfA? It's okay if you haven't, no pressure or anything, but I'd be happy to nominate you. I had to do this myself, so please remember in the future. Thank you. --AAA! Sorry it took this long -- busy with the election yesterday. Best wishes, Xoloz 18:23, 8 November 2006 (UTC) [edit] Anthropology projectI have communicated with The Ungovernable Force regarding the proposed anthropology project which you indicated an interest in, and have gotten the OK from him to move the project into wiki-space and make it active. He indicated that he is busy in school right now, but will be as active as he can be given that. The project page as it now exists is only a minimum page, and could use the input of interested parties such as yourself. Personally, I did noticably poorly in the one cultural anthropology class I took in college, so I'm bowing out of this one, but wish you and the other members of the project the best of luck with it. Thank you. Badbilltucker 21:46, 8 November 2006 (UTC) [edit] Wikipedia WeeklyHeya! Thanks for your suggestions for topics -- I really love a couple of them, and I'll be trying to slip them into an episode further down the line. Man, we have so much content to get through... we might have the bite the bullet and make our episodes that much longer... That said, are you interested in being a panelist on, at least, episode 5? We'll be recording it this weekend at some point, and we still have at least one spot open if you'd like to fill it. :) Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 12:23, 9 November 2006 (UTC) [edit] My RfA:Thank you so very much for voting support in my RfA. [edit] DYK--Allen3 talk 12:00, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[edit] VandalProof User List and Fair use amendmentI've recently also gotten errors telling me that I'm not on the user list, and then later, that the list was corrupt. Thinking that it was something on my side, I traced VandalProof to the VandalProof "L" page, perhaps due to something wrong with the reverts? Hope it gets fixed soon! Also, the fair use amendment allowing fair use images in portals is in limbo right now, as one side says it changes policy, the other says that it doesn't. Can you clarify this? Thanks. And even though I disagreed that the template should be deleted, some of your concerns are certainly valid. I have added some comments at Template talk:Spa#XfD discussions and concerns of possible misuse, which I hope might help prevent overly aggressive application of this template. Just two weeks ago, I asked Gogo Dodo to accept my RfA nomination, but he was inclined to decline because he felt he needed more experience. I eventually convinced him, and his RfA passed with almost 100% support! I hope you really do reconsider, TBC. If you don't feel ready yet, I understand, but be sure to tell me when you feel like going up for the RfA. I'll definitely nominate you in the future. =) Nishkid64 18:12, 9 December 2006 (UTC) [edit] WikiProject Anthropology Collaboration of the monthHello. Ralbot 05:24, 12 December 2006 (UTC) [edit] Thanks for votingI appreciate the feedback that I received during the RfA process. Unfortunately, I withdrew my candidacy. However, your participation is appreciated. I have made my New Years Resolution (effective immediately) to attempt to vote on at least 50 WP:XFD/week (on at least 5 different days), to spend 5 hours/week on WP:NPP, to be active in WikiProjects and to change the emphasis of my watchlist from editorial oversight to vandalism prevention. I have replaced several links that I had on my list to some that I think are more highly vandalized (Tiger Woods, Barry Bonds, my congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr., my senator Barrack Obama and Jesse Jackson). My first day under my newly turned leaf was about what I hope a typical day to be. I quickly found a vandal, made a few editorial changes to Donald Trump, voted at WP:CFD and WP:AFD, continued attempted revitalization of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Chicago and proposed a new stub type as a result of WP:NPP patrol. I hope this will broaden my wikipedia experience in a way that makes me a better administrator candidate. I hope to feel more ready to be an admin in another 3000 or so edits.
