Trefeglwys is a village in in north Powys, and historically in Montgomeryshire.
The name derives from Tref: meaning farm, Eglwys: meaning church. The village sits on the River Trannon.

Historically, the parish of Trefeglwys includes the townships of Bodaioch, Maestrefgomer, Eskeirieth and Dolgwden, whilst a rural area the parish of Trefeglwys is about 8 miles long by 3 miles wide.
