Although it is signposted from afar when you get nearer the signs are conflicting and send you off in various directions, usually towards roads that suddenly come to an end in the middle of nowhere. After missing it a few times, we actually drove past it and did not realise as there are no signs near the actual tree. After a very long detour to the extrmem Sputh of Bahrain, we tried to find the tree of life again and this time we made it. The problem is, there are no fences or protective measures around the tree. People drive right up to it almost over its roots. Some of the branches are damaged as people have been swinging onit. There is loads of graffiti on the actua; tree and it is surrounded by discarded picnics etc. What a shame to treat something described as a tourist attraction with such desrespect. Someone in Bahrain should sort this out before the tree is damaged beyond repair. Afshan Malik visiting from London UK
