Travliata

Travliata (Greek: Τραυλιάτα) is a village located 5 km SE of Argostoli and about 35 km W of Poros in the municipality of Livathos on the island of Kefalonia bounding with Argostoli. The town is incorrectly spelled Travliatata Travliatata is linked with the road linking Poros and Argostoli and another road linking to the Agios Georgios castle and north to Troianata and Valsamata north of the square. The Aenos mountain lies to the northeast along with the hills of Omalon. Farmlands including olive groves, dry grasslands and pastures lie to the west and the south, pine and spruce trees with a couple of cypress trees lies north around the fortress and other trees at the Omalon hills. The panorama does not include the island of Zante but includes the Lassi, the Krani plain, Potamiana, the Argostoli Gulf, northern Paliki and the town of Argostoli and further uphill, Lixouri.

Much of the population are rural and the main economy is based on agriculture and more common, businesses, hotels but rare tourism. The income was very poor, but it is richer than some villages. Residential homes and buildings are almost within the Poros - Argostoli Road. The urban area stretches for about 1 km within the main road. Much of the population from the mid-20th century left for larger towns and mainly cities. The 1953 Ionian Earthquake destroyed every building in Peratata that took months to rebuilt. The entire population that time as well as other parts of the island were homeless and part of the population left Travliatata. The following years, Travliatata became linked with the paved roads.

Famous landmark includes the bowling center in Travliat and the fortress of Agios Georgios to the east which was used to be used by the Frankish and the Venetians. The majority of the population are rural with some urban.

Travliata has a small school, a church, two gas station (including Revoil) and a small square (plateia). The nearest beaches are to the near Pessada to the south and Klismata to the southeast.
