Trapped in the Body of a White Girl was the second single released by singer and comedienne Julie Brown. It was the first single off of her only album, also called Trapped in the Body of a White Girl. The song is a typical 80's pop song, but with comedic lyrics about a woman who feels trapped in the stereotypical (80's) lifestyle of a white woman. She would rather "get funky," because she is "sick of sushi" and "watching Vanna White is such a bore!"
The song had a fairly low-budget accompanying video featuring a Bride of Frankenstein theme. It received fairly heavy rotation on MTV due in part to Brown's status there as a VJ. The single was released in two formats: 12" and 7" vinyl record.
