Transwerk is a subsidiary of Transnet whose business it is to keep South Africa's trains rolling. According to the Operational Report at Transnet, Tranwerk's responsibility includes "the maintenance, upgrade and manufacture of locomotives, wagons, coaches, rolling stock components and associated transport equipment." The company operates seven factories in South Africa. Transwerk maintains sales offices in 7 European countries, 11 African countries and in Australia.
