Transport in Tuvalu

Transport services in Tuvalu are limited. A ferry runs between the main atolls. There are about 8 kilometers of roads and no railways.
Funafuti is the only port, there is also a deep-water berth in the harbour at Nukufetau. The merchant marine fleet consists of four ships of 1,000 GRT or over, totaling 33,199 GRT/56,187 DWT as of 1999. This includes two cargo ships and one passenger/cargo ship.
The only airport is Funafuti International Airport, it is a gravel strip. IATA airport code FUN. The only flights are to Fiji.
The streets of Funafuti were paved and lighted in mid-2002. Other roads are unpaved.
