Transport in San Marino

There are no railways in San Marino, but there is a 1.5 km aerial tramway connecting the city of San Marino on top of Monte Titano to Borgo Maggiore. There are 220 km of highways in the country, and no major ports, harbours or airports. However, the Adriatic seashore and an airport can easily be accessed by road, via a short drive into Rimini, Italy where there is also a Trenitalia train station.

There is a regular bus service between Rimini and the city of San Marino, popular both with tourists and with tourist industry workers commuting to San Marino from Italy. The country runs its own small local bus system as well.
