TransFair USA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is one of twenty members of FLO International, and the only third-party certifier of Fair Trade products in the United States.

TransFair USA’s mission is "to build a more equitable and sustainable model of international trade that benefits producers, consumers, industry and the earth". TransFair USA audits transactions between US companies offering Fair Trade Certified™ products and the international suppliers from whom they source, in order to guarantee that the farmers and farm workers behind Fair Trade Certified goods were paid a fair, above-market price. In addition, annual inspections conducted by FLO-CERT ensure that strict socioeconomic development criteria are being met using increased Fair Trade revenues, in addition to sustainable farm management, environmental stewardship and democratic decision-making.

During the 1999-2005 period, over 74.2 million pounds of Fair Trade Certified™ coffee was sold in the United States. This has provided coffee farmers in developing countries an additional income of approximately $60 million dollars.

Although coffee remains the most popular Fair Trade product in the United States, TransFair USA has also introduced in the past years Fair Trade Certified™ tea, cocoa, fresh fruit, and, most recently, rice and sugar.
