TransCanada TSX: TRP is a large energy company based in Calgary, Alberta.

The company is the larest shareholder in TransCanada PipeLines, LP, which owns many of Canada's natural gas pipelines, as well as a number in the U.S.. TransCanada is also expanding its business to include a growing number of electrical generating assets. The company was founded in 1951 in Calgary.
