[edit] Fictional character biography
The Superhero known as Trajectory began her life as one Eliza Harmon, who in her youth came to admire and adore the Teen Titans, the Flash and the speedster Impulse who operated in Manchester, Alabama, the area in which she grew up.
When Lex Luthor announced the creation of a process capable of artificially instilling metahuman powers on any and all who would volunteer, Eliza jumped at the chance; as might be guessed, she elected to gain the powers of super-speed, and became one of Luthor's group's founding members; later to become the latest incarnation of Infinity Inc.
Unfortunately for Eliza, the "stress" and boredom of living everyday life at regular speed (apparently, unlike most speedsters, she was unable to slow her highly accelerated perceptions of the world around her down at will), she turned to a drug called "Sharp", which regulated and slowed down her superhuman metabolism.
Over the course of a few weeks, the drug's side-effects also made her irritable and reckless; this culminated in an outburst against Lex Luthor, himself; he promptly kicked her off the team.
However, Natasha Irons (formerly known as the fourth person to take on the name of the superhero Steel until having a fallout with her uncle John) personally interceded on Eliza's behalf and pleaded for Lex Luthor to let her back on the team; he acceded to Natasha's request and a chastened Eliza (who had spent the time between her outburst and the present sucesfully de-toxing) gladly and gratefully rejoined.
[edit] Death
Eliza met her end at the hands of the third supervillain to take the name of Blockbuster; true to his character, Lex Luthor had not forgottten or forgiven Eliza's earlier outburst, and during a critical moment; Luthor revealed the trump card to his 'Everyman a Superhero' program: the powers of those instilled with his technology could see their powers taken away at will (of course, he had not informed the artificially-created heroes themselves about this, nor the general public). Luthor chose just the right moment to simultaneously take 'revenge' on Eliza and create a public relations event that would elevate this latest incarnation of Infinity, Inc. in the eyes of the public.
While engaged in solo combat against Blockbuster, she wilfully ignored Natasha's order to confront Blockbuster only as a team after he had once again broken free. Luthor then turned off Eliza's powers; without her super-speed, she was easily caught by the superhumanly strong and fast Blockbuster, who grasped her by the head and decapitated her with his bare hands.
[edit] Powers and Abilities
- Trajectory could run and move at superhuman speeds; however, as her powers were apparently not actually supplied by the Speed Force, she could neither move at the extreme, near-light speeds of the Flashes nor could she apparently perform the tricks that "real" Flashes could (steal kinetic energy from other objects, "borrow" Speed Force from other Flashes in times of need, heal herself at super-speed, et al.).
