[edit] Major roles
She is best known for the role of Lauren Fenmore that she portrayed on both The Young and the Restless (from 1983 to 1995 as a contract player and from 2001 to the present on a recurring basis) and The Bold and the Beautiful (1995-1998).
Despite her recurring status as Lauren Fenmore on The Young and the Restless, she continues to be featured prominently in storylines, namely in the 2005-06 storyline involving the return of her character's arch nemesis, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). Lauren has been married to lawyer Michael Baldwin, portrayed by Christian LeBlanc, since December 9th, 2005. Her previous marriages and relationships include detective Paul Williams, rock star Danny Romalatti, Dr. Scott Grainger, Brad Carlton, Ridge Forrester, and Eric Forrester. Lauren has one son, Scotty Grainger Jr., with Dr. Scott Grainger who is now deceased. Although Scotty was born on screen in 1992, when he reappeared in Genoa City in 2006, he was aged to be 24 years of age - a grad student currently working on his masters in Education. The aging of Scotty appeared to be quite unrealistic as the character of Lauren is only about 40 or so, which is likely why he left the canvas of Genoa City shortly after his return. Lauren Fenmore's parents are Neil Fenmore, played by Jim Storm, and Joanna Manning and Neil Fenmore, portrayed by Susan Seaforth Hayes, best known for her role as Julie on Days of Our Lives. She is the CEO of her late father's department store, "Fenmore's" which is largely how she acquired her wealth. For a complete history of her character, please see the character's history page.
In light of her character's newfound romance with Christian LeBlanc's character Michael, Tracey's recognition has increased immensely due to the couple's popularity. The two are expecting their first child in Fall 2006.
Prior to The Young and the Restless, Tracey also appeared on the soap opera Days of Our Lives between the years of 1978 - 1980, portraying troubled teen Donna Temple Craig.
[edit] Personal life and career
Part of the reason that Tracey remains on recurring status for Young and the Restless is so she can embark on other projects. One of which includes a reality television show she hosts "Tales of the Soulful Earth." She explains, "It's a show that takes women who are at crossroads in their life on these life-altering spiritual journeys - to the Himalayas, the Outback, to the Antarctic - with therapists that talk them through it. They are taken out of their own lives to see past where they are stuck. There is going to be a celebrity version, too." Bregman was excited upon first hearing about the project. "You've got your Dr. Phil's, and all of that. But we can all relate to be being stuck, and not being able to get past a certain situation."
Her other television credits include the after-school special 'he Girl with E.S.P., and the telefilms Three on a Date and Sex and Mrs. X. She was a series regular on Second Family Tree with Ann Archer and James Spader, and guest-starred in the series The Fall Guy, Gavilan, Fame and The Love Boat, as well as the Canadian series The Littlest Hobo.
The "E." in Tracey's professional name, which stands for Elizabeth, was not there originally. Rather, she added it on the advice of a numerologist; she is quoted in Soap Opera Digest as saying, "A month after I added it, I got Y&R - and I've been afraid to take it out ever since!"
In 2004, Tracey launched her own yoga inspired clothing line "Bountiful Buddha" which sold popularly at friend Lisa Rinna's boutique "Belle Gray" in Los Angeles.
As implied by her clothing line, Tracey regularly does Yoga. Her favorite novel is "The Red Tent" by Anita Diament. Some of her favorite films are Terms of Endearment, When Harry met Sally, Broadcast News - she has been quoted as saying that she "likes to laugh and cry in the same movie!" Television shows she has said to enjoy are The Actors Studio on Bravo!, Gilmore Girls and Sex and the City. Lastly, she is a big fan of the George Foreman grill.
Bergman has been married to real estate developer Ronald Recht since December 5, 1987. Bergman and Recht have two sons. She also has two stepdaughter's from husband Ron's previous marriage, Emily and Lindsay. They reside in Malibu, California.
