[edit] Prequel?
The article says that the film is a prequel to the TV show. Is this confirmed?
Yes it is confirmed when you watch the Trailer Park Boys: The Movie Behind the Scenes. It aired on October 1st, 2006 on ShowCase in Canada --Aleeproject 03:41, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
I saw the movie and it didn't look like a prequel to me. - SPKx 21:27, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
It's not canonical. It would have to take place before Jim Lahey gets his job back as a police officer (Season 6) and before Ray gets busted for his disability scam (Season 5). (Ray is back in "the chair" in the film). However, if Ricky and Lucy got married during the events portrayed during the film (which would have to have taken place in relation to the timeline of the show), why did it never come up that they "secretly got married?" In fact, there was already a previous wedding that got interupted because the boys got arrested. By Season 6, Lucy was sleeping with all sorts of people, including George Greene.
It couldn't have been a prequel to the entire series (as the TPB Christmas Special was) for the same reason of the Ricky/Lucy wedding that got interupted during the series run.
Plus, the breast enhancement issue was already brought up. This was at about the time Rick burned down Ray's trailer. The breats were paid for with Julian and Ricky's money that was supposed to buy the park-- Cory and Trevor were stupid though and lost all the money when the boys were in jail.
The movie does not fit in with the continuity at all. It has the same characters and the same general situations but it ignores things established in the series.
So, it's neither prequel nor canon, in my opinion.--ClintonKirk
[edit] Requested move
Trailer Park Boys: The Big Dirty → Trailer Park Boys: The Movie – The movie ads and official webpage all call it Trailer Park Boys: The Movie. No references found for it being called Trailer Park Boys: The Big Dirty. TheTruthiness 19:03, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

- Weak support, Stated on website/imdb/theatre websites as Trailer Park Boys: The Movie, but also stated by Barrie Dunn on the Showcase special earlier tonight as being named "Trailer Park Boys: The Big Dirty", I believe.DemonWeb 03:57, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- Support (not that it matters, since it's been moved anyway...) - Looks like "The Big Dirty" was a "(Canada) working title" according to IMDB. Better to have it at the same page as such a primary external source lists it, for verifiability's sake. Maybe create redirects for other working/promo titles as well? --DeLarge 08:15, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
The "Big Dirty" was the name given to the film to distinguish it from the original black and white movie called the Trailer Park Boys Movie. The b+w movie was created before the show was optioned by Showcase in Canada. Presumably, calling the new film "The Big Dirty" helps the die-hard fans distinguish between the two. The phrase "the big dirty" is not out of thin air, it refers to an actual event in the film. It may not be the official marketed title, but it was seriously considered as a title and serves as an alternate title. --ClintonKirk
I agree this CANNOT be a prequil, there is simply too many factors to contribute against it being so, also I beleve that it came before the show, but as a seperate continuity of the lives of the characters. Examples: -Bubbles Go-cart -Lucy's Plastic Surgery -J'rocks dirty movies, which he apperently sells in gas stations not to russians, as in the Show. all happened at different times in the series.-TeamQuiggan
I put the other title back into the article - SPKx 16:32, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
