Township High School District 211

Township High School District 211 is a school district located in Cook County, Illinois, the largest high school district in Illinois.[citation needed]

District 211 serves most of the Palatine and Schaumburg townships. District 211 includes significant portions of the city of Rolling Meadows, and the villages of Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Palatine, and Schaumburg, and smaller corners of Arlington Heights, Elk Grove, Hanover Park, Roselle, and South Barrington.

Due to nearly $20 million of debt, the school district held a referendum to raise taxes in surrounding communities. On April 5th, 2005, the referendum passed with 54.88% of the vote.

Recently, the teachers and educators have threatened to strike, but a settlement was reached upon between the school board of education and the teachers union.
