The Town of Bassendean is a Local Government Area of Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 10 km² in northeastern metropolitan Perth, the capital of Western Australia and lies about 12 km northeast of the Perth CBD and 6 km from Midland. The Town of Bassendean maintains 97 km of roads, and has a population of 13,305.

The West Guildford Road Board was gazetted in 1901. It was renamed to Bassendean Road Board in 1922, and on 1 July 1961, became a Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act. It became a town in 1975.[1]
