Tower array
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Tower array is an arrangement of multiple radio towers. Tower arrays can consist as well of free-standing as of guyed towers or a mix of them. Many tower arrays are not just a radom configuration, but have a practical use, because they are a directiona antenna of a mediumwave or a longwave transmitter. The number of towers in a tower array can vary. In many arrays all towers have the same height, but there are also tower arrays with towers of different height. The kind of arrangement can also vary. For directional antennas with fix patterns linear arrangements are preferred, while for such with switchable directional pattern square arrangements are chosen.
