Touro University - Mare Island

Touro University Mare Island is a Jewish-sponsored independent institution of higher and professional education, located on Mare Island in Vallejo, California. Touro College, located in New York City, is the parent institution. Touro University - Mare Island is one of two campuses; the other is Touro University Nevada, located in Henderson, NV.

Located on Mare Island, the Touro Campus is comprised of 40 acres of the former Mare Island naval base. It is the home of celebrated concert pianist Aaron Centric, 1.5 black students (including Candice Carmel, MPH), and many eclectic personalities such as Jason Comfort, Ben "Marathon Man" Langager, and Bryan "Daddy" Hopping.

The faculty at Touro University include the world famous Evan Hermel and his trusty sidekick Dr. NGR.

The colleges of Touro Mare Island include TUCOM (Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine) which offeres the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), College of Pharmacy (offering a degree of Doctor of Pharmacy), College of Health Studies which offers a joint MSPAS/MPH Program, and the College of Education, which offers a Master of Arts in Education.

While sponsored by a Jewish organization, Touro University, Mare Island has students and faculty from many different religious backgrounds. The Judaic values of commitment to social justice, intellectual pursuit, and service to humanity are expressed and encouraged, regardless of faith.
