"Touch Me I'm Sick" is the first song appearing on Mudhoney's Superfuzz Bigmuff Plus Early Singles album. It features a catchy, upbeat hard rock riff produced by an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff distortion pedal. The song is easily Mudhoney's most important and influential to date.[citation needed] Mudhoney's lead singer Mark Arm has acknowledged that the song was the defining moment in the band's career.[citation needed]
In the liner notes for the Best Of & Rarities compilation March to Fuzz, guitarist Steve Turner said concerning the song:
- In retrospect, it's The Yardbirds' "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago" by way of The Stooges' "Sick of You". At the time I was trying for the stuttering R&B guitar of The Nights and Days.
In the same liner notes, Mark Arm stated, "I thought this song was a b-side toss off, until it stormed up the independent charts."
